Right? Um no it has been busy busy busy in my world. I get really into my craft business when I am out of work. My Aunt moved back to our neck of the woods (well the urban jungle atleast) and we have been helping her to get settled, after all she is 82 years young. There was the trip to Stampfest in the end of June also (had a blast more on that later). Then there were three birthdays so far in July and one more in July and then one in August.

Speaking of birthdays mine was on the 3rd turned the big 40! My daughters was on the 14th her 21st birthday, is that possible? Then my Aunt's was on the 25th her 82nd one. My grandmother's would have been the 11th but she went home to Jesus many years ago, she would have been 100 this year can you imagine that? My dad's is on the 31st he will be celebrating his 73rd birthday. My niece's is on August 1st she will be 26. Time flies once you hit a certain age it just zooms past you before you know it.

I am going to be posting new videos on youtube already have 3 new ones on there. Finishing up a new one today. Classes start for one of my jobs on the 8th of August then back to work on the 22nd. Got to get work done on Halloween and Christmas items for the etsy shop but I will try to be better at blogging along the way.

Thanks for stopping by!
As most of you know I am a crafter. So my question for this week is if you craft then what is your favorite crafting tool?

I must say that mine has to be my cricut(s). Yes I own more than one in fact I own three cricuts. I love them. They are all different from each other one prints and cuts, one is the first one I bought and just cuts and the newest one is the anniversary edition with tons of new features.

I use my cricuts a lot. I go through blades pretty quickly since I usually cut on average 30 of each image I cut. That is a lot of cutting.
This feature will consist of articles about and related to stockpiles. It will show what we were able to stockpile for the week and some good resources on stockpiling. Some may equate stockpiling to hording but if done right then it is not hording but a step towards sustainable living. In its essence a stockpile is ensuring that your family has the means to survive emergencies, tragedies and other disasters.
This week we were able to get two fabulous deals at Publix. The first was Duncan Hines cake mixes. They are BOGO this week and we had B2G1 coupons meaning for $1.99 we could get 6 cake mixes. Since we buy multiple papers we were able to buy 24 boxes of cake mixes! AWESOME!
Deal number two came from me having a strangle hold on some blinkies I got a few months ago. They were a $1/2 cans of tomatoes. This week they are on BOGO at Publix so I was able to get two 28oz cans for 87 cents! So I got 8! We use tomatoes a lot so this was a superb deal for us.
Here is a look at what we got for $23.00 that would have cost $68 not pictured is the sweet potato fries that Publix has a hard time keeping on the shelf they are by Ore Ida and are yummy and there is a $1/1 coupon out there for them so we get them whenever we can find them.
YAY, summer allows me more time to devote to my blog since I am unemployed during the summer. So here goes the second new feature, called Mega Deal Monday or simply MDM. What I will do is feature something that I feel is a Mega Deal. You will want to check in every Monday to see what it is.
This weeks Mega Deal is Coke Rewards. Do you save the lids off coke bottles? Ever wonder what those numbers and letters are for? Well they are redeemable at www.mycokerewards.com and they are a great way to get FREE stuff.
Now we all like FREE stuff right? Who doesn't! But you may be asking yourself what kind of FREE stuff can I get? Well for 30 points (lids are worth 3 pts each and box flaps are 10 pts each) you can get a coupon for a FREE 16 oz coke or power aid no shipping cost at all totally FREE!! You could spend a bit more points and get a coupon for a 12 pack of coke for 240 points. And that is not all they offer there are magazine subscriptions, towels, promo items, tickets to movies, tons of FREE stuff!
I personally do not drink soft drinks but there are two cokeaholics in my household who keep us in points. You are allowed to register 120 points per week every Monday starts a new week. There are no limits on how many you can redeem each week.
So don't throw those lids or box flaps away till you turn in those codes. You can get FREE stuff and everyone loves FREE stuff!
I am going to start a new series of blog postings, called Sunday Ramblings. Mostly it is an attempt to get my followers (you wonderful folks) to interact with my posts. I will pose a question each Sunday that I will invite all my followers to answer.

So lets jump right in. This weeks question is (drum roll please) What do you put on you corn on the cob? It is summer and corn on the cob never tastes better than in the summer. I love butter and pepper on my ears of corn. But lately I have discovered something even better, I have been using butter still but I have switched to using Jane's Krazy Mixed-Up Seasonings Original Mixed-Up Salt. This stuff is fantastic! It is a mix of salt, herbs and spices, dried onion and dried garlic. You can use it on anything but it is out of this world on corn on the cob!

So here is your question lets here what you like on your ear of corn! Are you a straight butter and salt person or do you like to shake it up with herbs and spices or even cheese?

I have family in NW Arkansas still so we are checking on them. Time difference means I have to wait till my first post is over to call back home. They are ok though just got regular storms no tornadoes.

Still working on tons of projects. I wasn't feeling so good over the weekend so I got nothing done. I will be busy busy busy. I need to get my ATC's done still. I have my idea in my head for this month and next month.

I am also rearranging my craft room. I am converting a shelving unit into my new cricut station and hopefully I can get all three (yes I have 3 cricuts) on the shelves. I need to get that room in order so I don't get all stressed out when I go in there.
I think I am going to get very busy this afternoon. I want to get them done before I need them a week from Saturday. I also need to make some different ones for some independent swaps and to take to Stampfest (hopefully I still get to go).

For those who do not know what an ATC is it is an Artist Trading card. The format is 2 1/2 by 3 1/2. The sky is the limits as far as what you put on them it is totally up to your individual creativeness. There is only two rules the size and you must trade them not sell them (although I have heard of people selling them I just don't agree with them doing that kinda defeats the whole purpose).

I participate in a swap at a local craft store each month. I also attend the ATC class after the swap where I learn something new each time I go.

If you haven't tried doing an ATC give it a go. You will love it. If you ever want to swap ATC's contact me I would love to swap with you.
I need this farmers market real bad! John has always been so helpful getting us produce in bulk for our canning adventures and don't know what we will do if he has shut down.

The other farmers markets that I know of are downtown. Not really a viable option. Plus I don't know any of the venders. I am use to being able to get crates of veggies at a time to do our canning. Can't grow enough in our yard to put up enough so we buy from the farmers market. John always had fresh produce and he could find whatever we needed in whatever amounts we needed.

It will be a sad day if he has shut down.
I am looking for a good recipe that uses frozen juice concentrate. I love making jellies and jams. I love canning anything. I take great joy when I look in our canning pantry and see all the food and jellies and jams we have stored in there.

On the same general subject I am not sure what is going on with my local supplier/farmers market. I have gone by there at least a half dozen times and John is either not there or they are not open lately it has been the latter. I call and get a weird message that calls are not being taken at that number at that time. I really need to buy some veggies in bulk so that I can restock our canning pantry and John has always been real good to get what I want in the amounts I want at great prices. So I am frustrated about that.

We simply don't have the room to grow enough of our own to can. Wish we did. We do the best we can with what we got though. I grow veggies in all kinds of ways. We have fruit trees that supply plums when we have enough rain. This year has been really dry.
Things are being found namely both dremels and one battery and charger. It is a start. I am not griping. I at least can get one project done now.

I was just having a really bad moment.
I am frustrated beyond where I need to be. I am stressed to the max trying to find a way to make everyone happy and make things work out for me for once. I am just ready to throw in the towel and call it a day and quit.

I know everyone has days like this but mine seem to come in bulk. I just can't get anything done to list on etsy, if I can't list it I can't sell it and I can't sell it then can't do anything. Of course going through a dry spell on etsy right now is not helping matters at all.

I have a tripped planned for the end of June that it looks like I might not get to go after all cause of aforementioned problems with cash flow. I am supposed to go to Stampfest in Orlando. However I have no money for the hotel, gas, or food let alone money to buy stuff. The only thing I have thus far paid for is the 2 classes and the make and take and admission ticket. That won't get me there. I just feel like hiding in a dark room by myself today.

I could really use some encouraging words but seems like there is a dry spell in that area too.
Hope everyone is having a better Monday than I am.
I like to gather as much as we can when we get rain so that I can use it instead of the city water. I need to invest in a rain barrel but for now we use the wheelbarrow to collect the rain then we put it in empty bottles and store it for future use on the garden.
The peas are sprouting and a few other things too. So exciting to see them grow! I need to start some more seeds today also.

The blackberry bushes we bought the other day have quite a few berries that are close to picking stage. I love berries but the first two plants we bought did not leaf out and still look like sticks what a bummer. These four new ones look very nice though and quite bushy with nice berries.

The tomato plants are doing real good even if they are on the short side they are producing quite well. The fresh tomatoes have been so nice. There is nothing in the world like the taste of a homegrown tomato. I love to grow as much as we can.

I know this makes the third post in one day, scary I know but hang in there it will be alright. So I was putting my ATC's that I created for the swap I attend every month in my new little album so I can take them with me when I attend functions and I thought I would share them. I go to a swap and then an ATC class at a local craft store (A Small Cleverness if you are ever in Orange Park FL you must check it out!) once a month. I have a blast there and have met some really talented artists.
I haven't been on here in so long. I don't know why I thought I had only been gone for a month or so. Ok so I am making a commitment to be on here more now.

Ok so here is what is going on. Had quite a few orders in my etsy shop. Working on new things for there too. I have several new things in the works I am working on party centerpieces and some quilted wall hangings.

I will be uploading some pics soon of some cards I have made lately. Just need to take pics of them. If the lights will stay on for more than an hour at a time I might get something done bad storms here in NE Florida.

Ok I will probably post twice today (I know it will be ok don't get frightened).
Hugs to you all,
In light of what is going on not far from my home (the Minister in Gainesville FL threatening to burn Korans) I thought this would be a good time to talk about Love.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

1 John 4:7,8

As Christians we are instructed by God to show the love of Christ through our actions and words. Threatening to burn a religious book (regardless of what religion it is) is not showing the love of Christ. It is showing hate and were hate resides love cannot. I am a Christian, I love Jesus and God is my Lord and Heavenly Father. I am ashamed and deeply saddened that someone who is supposed to be called of God would threaten to do such a thing, and do it in the name of Christianity.
On the same subject, sort of, I will say that I am adamantly against putting a Mosque at Ground Zero. I feel it is an affront and insult to those whose lives were taken there.
It is not easy to love your friends and even harder to love your enemies but that is what we are supposed to do. God will take care of those who go against him, that is not our concern or our battle. We are to love one another and to show the love of Christ-period.Sweet Design Inchttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03450779505587729260noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000407983880282441.post-29057428439706522142010-09-08T10:03:00.000-04:002010-09-08T10:03:24.758-04:00Today in the WordGood Morning everyone. Are we ready to jump into the Word today? Alright lets get to it!

Mark 11:22,23

And Jesus answering saith unto them. Have faith in God.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Are you speaking to your mountain? My mountain has been sitting in the garage in a state of not working for 6 months now-our good Maytag fridge that needs to be repaired. Did I speak to it and have faith in God that he would replace it or make a way for it to get fixed? Um I hate to admit this but no I did not and have not. It broke on a weekend full of food and I decided we would go to RAC and purchase a dinky little fridge on the payment plan and pay 3 times what the fridge is worth. OK well I missed the mark on that one. I panicked. I am now confessing my shortcoming and speaking out that God will make a way for the Maytag to get repaired or replaced. Thank you Lord for your goodness.
How many times has something come up and instead of looking to God and speaking and standing in Faith we look to ourselves? I am guilty (lots of times). But I will tell you this comfort and peace come with leaning on God and putting our faith in Him to provide for us and take care of our mountains. What seems like an insurmountable obstacle to us is just a little bump in the road to God. Let Him make the way and don't try to figure out how He is going to do it-Gods pretty good at this.Sweet Design Inchttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03450779505587729260noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000407983880282441.post-9288663436901251362010-09-07T13:38:00.000-04:002010-09-07T13:38:37.980-04:00Where did they get it?Ok remember how I said earlier today that I would be expanding on the obeying the laws? Ok here we go folks.
As a School crossing guard employed by my city's sherriffs office, part of my job is to observe driver behavior. I can tell you right now I don't know how these motorists got thier liscense nor how they keep it. I have 2 signs facing in both directions in my SCHOOL ZONE that warns drivers they are entering a school zone where the speed limit is 15 MPH. Plus I am hard to miss in my dayglow yellow uniform. Yet 90% zip right threw the zone going 35+ MPH without even a care!!! They don't care that they might hit a child, animal or adult. Some act like it is their life mission to go as fast as they can on this residential street going upwards of 40+ MPH and even speeding up when they get to the school zone!!
What is wrong with motorists these days? Is where you are going so urgent that you can't slow down and observe the speed limit? If you think you are in a hurry now what are you going to think when you hit a child or a crossing guard while you are zipping threw the school zone? I have had drivers not even stop when I am holding up a sign that says STOP, thankfully "my kids" are good to listen to me and don't enter the crosswalk without my instructions to do so (most of the time, they are kids after all).
My other peave? Do drivers know what a crosswalk is for? it sure isn't for parking your car there while waiting in line at the car rider pick up lane. That crosswalk has to stay clear for the crossing guard to cross children (And adults we cross parents/siblings/aunts/uncles/grandparents too). If your vehicle is in the crosswalk at all we can't cross them.
Ok done venting just needed to get that off my chest. But please pay attention to the school zones and don't speed in these areas, someone's life might depend on you slowing down.Sweet Design Inchttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03450779505587729260noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000407983880282441.post-9449583648218915492010-09-07T12:03:00.000-04:002010-09-07T12:03:17.802-04:00Today in the Word September 7,2010I am enjoying this feature on my blog so much, I hope you are also. These first posted scriptures I have been using The Bible Promise Book that belonged to my Grandmother. It has catagories which I find helpful when I am searching for the scripture that is speaking to me each day. Today I went to the Obedience section, really there is a reason. My thoughts this morning as I was spending my hour at my post in between crossing "my kids" were all about how many people were not obeying the law by speeding (35+mph in a 15MPH school zone) by me in my school zone. I will post more about that later though lets get into the Word now.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

This is a scripture I remind myself of every time something goes not according to my plan. I just remind myself that my plans are laughable anyway when it comes to God's plan and what He has planned may not mesh with my "plans" but it will work towards the good. Guess what? It almost always does (when I don't interfere lol). We just need to remember to do what God asks of us and everything will pan out.Sweet Design Inchttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03450779505587729260noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000407983880282441.post-60244091428701895072010-09-06T08:47:00.000-04:002010-09-06T08:47:38.942-04:00Today in the WordToday's passage is from Isaiah 30:21

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Ever notice how loud the world we live in is? It is sometimes very hard to hear that still, small voice that is there to guide us. I believe that the devil plays a big role in noise pollution. He would love for us not hear the Holy Spirit speaking to us. He would delight in us missing opportunities to share God's love because we just couldn't hear the prompting in our Spirits to reach out to those around us.
Take a moment each day just to be quiet and still and listen. When you find yourself distracted it is a good time to examine if you are missing a message due to interference.Sweet Design Inchttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03450779505587729260noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000407983880282441.post-64864727570539336852010-09-05T21:33:00.001-04:002010-09-07T11:52:30.815-04:00Menu Plan Monday 9/6/10

Well I know I have not posted our menu the last few weeks.
